I address a topic covered on B1G Talk E119 (anywhere you find podcasts), with Dalton Shetler and myself!
Why are conferences forcing lower-run (non-revenue producing sports) to compete in the new football mega-conferences? UCLA, USC, Washington, & Oregon are joining the B1G in July, and it will pose a bit of a troubling issue for some of the smaller sports at all 18 schools. These sports will need to travel cross-country to compete in conference games/contests and will cost the institutions lots of $$. This could lead to the shuddering of these sports to save the bottom line! What does I think COULD save these sports, and thus save the scholar-athletes who compete in these sports?

Purdue makes it back to the Final Four for the first time since 1980! I was 8 months old, so I wasn't truly able to understand what it means for your team to be in the final weekend of the tournament! I have so many thoughts about this coming weekend that it will be in TWO different parts! What did we see with UCONN against Illinois?!
I think Purdue advances, and that makes the fan in me VERY happy! |
